A girl from Moldova performs a mantra dedicated to Yama:

“Om, Let me meditate on the son of Sun God,
Oh, great Lord of time,
give me higher intellect,
And let God of death illuminate my mind."

Yama or Yamarāja is the Lord of Fate and Justice. He is also known as a Lord of Dharma - righteousness. The one responsible for maintaining order and harmony in the world. His duty is to judge living beings by their deeds. Lord Yama is said to be one of the wisest of the deities and is also believed to have been the first mortal who died. Many know him as a Lord of Death also because he is the one who is going to judge our actions in the end of our life. This song is a call for all people to wake up, think about what the purpose of their life is. Very often people blame others in their problems and looking for the solution in the outside world. But the worst enemy is actually inside us: envy, lust, greed, anger, ignorance, and illusion. These qualities of ours are the causes of all our problems and suffering. By chanting this mantra, we ask the Lord Yama to eradicate our negative qualities. Awake us from illusion and help us realize our true nature.
